The entire idol was created in resemblance of a kaath putul . Over the past few years I have seen pandals where kaath putul was the central theme, but did not come across an idol like this.
The carving was on a single piece and the painting was bright and minute!
The pillars were carved out with care with images from rural life. Notice the intricate alpana in the platform.
The side walls of the pandal. It was a rural set up with huts and doors to entry. But one thing that was common was kaath putul .
The entire compound of the pandal had a laal mati layer to take us to the origin of the kaath putuls .
The chaaal chitra was a sum of painting and arrangement of small kaath putuls .
